Real Tin Ceiling Tiles!
Tin Ceiling Designs are available in 2’ x 4’
and 2’ x 8’ for Nail-up (Direct Application),
and 2’ x 2’ and 2’ x 4’ for Lay-in
(Drop-in Grid) applications. All Patterns can be perforated
for acoustical purposes. Cone head nails are available in
all finishes. Keep in mind that STEEL panels come UNFINISHED,
and need to be treated with an OIL-BASED paint. For best
results use a semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to prevent
rusting or tarnishing. To leave STEEL panels in natural
state, use clear gloss enamel by Rustoleum.
Tin ceiling tiles available in the following finishes:
Unfinished Steel, Lacquered Steel, White, Copper, Brass,
Chrome.
Note: Unfinished Steel is the only finish that if painted
requires an oil based polyurethane paint.

Painting
Tin Ceiling Tiles are manufactured from 30 gauge (.010) tin-free steel, which is chromium treated for good paint retention. Before painting your tiles, it is recommended that a primer be applied to ensure that the environment does not affect the paint. Possible effects could be induced by heat, humidity, condensation, and moisture. If painted properly using a high gloss or semi gloss oil based paint, or a clear gloss polyurethane to finish the product in its natural state, the panels can easily last a lifetime. Water based or latex paints cannot be used, as they will induce corrosion.
Acoustic Properties
Tin Ceiling Tiles are
made of steel and do not absorb sound. We have found few
complaints about noise levels, particularly if there is
other sound absorbing material in the room such as carpeting,
wall coverings or drapery. In fact, many restaurants, particularly
those that cater to younger crowds actually prefer a higher
noise level. However, where acoustics are important, all
our patterns are available in perforated metal, where much
of the sound can pass through the panel into the materials
behind it.
